Indian Women Entrepreneurs Are Advancing the Preschool Domain

Indian Women Entrepreneurs Are Advancing the Preschool Domain

In 2016, the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) revealed that 126 million women approximately started running their own businesses, while 98 million women-operated existing businesses all over the world. This means that 224 million women have actually impacted the global economy and out of these Indian women particularly are making waves in the early learning sector, perfectly turning childcare into a thriving business.

Women are aiming to standardize early learning in India

The preschool domain in India is one that is on the rise due to its popularity in the country today, however, the truth is that despite its prevalence, it remains quite unorganized. However, the influx of women entrepreneurs is ensuring that this sector no longer continues in this manner since they are aiming to standardize this space. Whether it's including world-class resources, research-based early learning curriculum, online teacher training resources, and child tracking apps, Indian women entrepreneurs are making sure that quality education and care is being given to children to prepare them for school. The early learning domain is one of the many business sectors that have have been called "female-dominated because women have long been taking care of children and teaching them at home.

They are turning unpaid work into paid work to bring more to the table

Previously, while many Indian women have run daycare centers and creche's from their own homes, they are now gaining the confidence to venture out and start a proper business of their own. Although caregiving is largely a burden on women in India, it is wonderful to see that women are turning unpaid work into paid work, so that they can earn a living for themselves while bringing more to the table. However, just because a woman is a mother does not always mean that she will be an expert in early learning and therefore, women are also getting themselves trained and certified to become professionals in early learning. The truth is that early learning has come a long way and the future is customized learning for children so that they can develop their strengths and get much-needed assistance in their weaknesses. Hence, this sector is one that is seeing rapid growth all over the country and people are soon becoming aware of the benefits of sending their young children to such educational institutions.
